Dr. Noelle Carlozzi and the CODA lab have received a new grant from the Neilsen Foundation. This 3 year project is a collaboration with the Bronx VA. It is focused on the assessment of blood pressure dysregulation (BPD) in people with spinal cord injury. Specifically the research team will be validating new PROs of blood pressure and use a standard clinical assessment of BPD, as well as continuous monitoring of heart rate and blood pressure (in the home environment) to establish clinical cut-points for the BPD-PROs that can be used to screen for clinically significant problems, as well as to better understand how the relationship between BPD and symptoms and functional outcomes. They will also take this opportunity to have the new BPD measures integrated within the health measures system so that they are available for public use.
The team includes Dr. Carlozzi (PI), Dr. Jonathan Troost (statistician/co-I), Dr Jill Wecht (Bronx VA/co-I), Dr. Michael Kallen (Northwestern University/consultant), and Jen Miner (Project Manager).
