CODA’s research portfolio focuses primarily on the development and application of new tools that can be used to evaluate important health outcomes. With regard to measurement development, much of our work is focused on the development of new patient reported outcome measures (or PROs) that can be used to assess health-related quality of life. These PROs, or self-report measures, are frequently developed as computer adaptive tests, or smart tests that administer items based on the person’s previous response. We have expertise in the development and application of psychological tests, or tests that evaluate cognition (thinking, memory, etc). We also focus on the innovative application of measurement in clinical research studies. This work includes using mobile devices to capture symptoms and functioning in real-time, continuously throughout the day.
